Bill and Sandra Kell – Kelly’s Landing
Bill and Sandra Kell live in an Alliance Homes residence at Kelly’s Landing in Barrie.
“We were treated with dignity by Alliance Homes,” says Bill Kell of the experience he and his wife Sandra enjoyed when they purchased their new home. They are really happy with the community, their home and the service they’ve received from the company.
“These are good homes,” Sandra says. “Alliance has a nice level of finishing. I visited the site a lot during construction, and there was never a problem. They were quite amenable to me coming by to watch the progress.”
The Kells chose the Doral, a 1,176 sq. ft. bungalow that Bill says, “… is amazingly efficient. There’s no wasted space.” He and Sandra should know – they walked through dozens of homes before they chose Alliance and this particular floorplan. In fact, Sandra says they spent the better part of a year attending open houses in the Barrie area. They like the south end of town and being close to Kempenfelt Bay.
Barrie was already home to the semi-retired couple. Bill grew up just a few miles from Kelly’s Landing, and his family roots go back 170 years in this part of the country. He and Sandra wanted to stay close to the farm they co-own with their son south of the community. Bill spends some time at the farm most days, and Sandra still works part-time in Barrie. “We love Kelly’s Landing,” says Sandra, “but we also still feel very much a part of the community we left.”
“At Kelly’s Landing, we have town water, sewers and bus service. There are good hospitals nearby, and everything we could need right here in town. We like the home we chose. We have enough space, and it’s very open inside. Plus, it’s on a short street that doesn’t get any through traffic. It’s quiet, and we can walk to the bus.”
“Our interaction with Alliance has been great,” Sandra adds. “We made a few minor changes to the original floorplan, and Alliance did what we requested, no problem. We had a quick closing, and after we moved in, they took care of the couple small things we needed in short order. We made the right decision.”
